Do What you love. It doesn’t matter what it is, just do it.

why? The reason is simple, you have one life. You only get one shot at this. There are no reruns or second acts. Go out there and do it. if you want to learn to Scuba Dive and you live in the mountains, it’s down to you to find a way. You might find out that you don’t like Scuba Diving once you have done it. That’s great. At least you know you don’t like it.

I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time

Why? Finally, I’m doing what I wanted to do for a long time. which is creating a youtube Channel on food. I love food, I love making food. (I don’t love being a chef though, it’s the hours that I can’t do.)

This was what I wanted to do for a long time. Why didn’t I make the channel back then? It was because I saw Gorden Ramsey making youtube Videos. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to make them and I thought that people wouldn’t watch them. I thought wrong. I’m now doing what I wanted to do and now I’m doing what I love.

At the time of me writing this blog, I do not have loads of followers. My audience is growing though. I’m not about to pretend I’m something I’m not and I don’t suggest you pretend either. Faking it until you make it is old hat. when it comes to light that you don’t have an accounts team let alone lead one, for example, will lead you to being called out as a liar and a fake.

Just be nice to people and people will be nice back. Sometimes though, it won’t work like this. Again this doesn’t matter. Better to find out, than to not know at all. There will be people to help you along the way and that will help you find your tribe. It was a wise person that told me this.

Why am I writing this?

There’s two reasons actually.

Reason one.

To give advise. If you were like me five years ago wanting to do something, but for any Reason, you are not. You should. If this blog only gets one person to start doing something they love then it has been worth writing. If that person is you, then listen to the following;

Don’t wait around to do that thing that you love, or rather the thing that you might love. Get out there and do it. Even if it’s throwing a bottle over your shoulder to catch it on the back of your hand. Or running 40 to 50 miles a week to run that marathon in under 3 hours. Even if you think people will laugh at you or that they won’t support you. Get out there and do it. No one has the right to tell you what you can or can not do. If it makes you happy and you’re not harming anyone nothing else matters.

If people don’t support you. Fine. You will find that people that do. Chances are that the people around you want the best for you and they will support you even if you are thinking they don’t. Even if they don’t it doesn’t matter, better to know who will support you than not. Should this be the case then you will attract the people that will support you so worry not.

Push yourself

Do something every day towards doing what you love. The journey will be long. There will be roadblocks, there will be time’s when it’s tough. Like really tough.

Keep chipping away at it. There may be a time when you start reading into things and these things to tell you to stop. Don’t stop. Keep going forward. Little by little, inch by inch.

There may be times when it feels like you are moving one step forward and then two steps back. This is the rhythm of the dance and like all good dances, it will come together in the end. Just have faith in the process. You will get there.

Nothing is stopping you

Reason two.

I’ve written this for me. To keep me going. If I’m honest I’ve been pushing for over a year now. One step forward two steps back. The rhythm of the dance is now starting to make sense but there is such a long way to go. Recently I’ve had the words in this blog whirling around my head.

So I’ve written them down. To tell me it is ok to be down. To tell me it is ok not be ok and to tell myself, to stay true to who I am. Making sure I carry on doing what I love to do. Which I will do because I’ve started. Starting something is the hardest thing to do as you need to get over your fears and insecurities enough to get up and do whatever it is you want to do in the first place.

Fears and Insecurities are all made up by over thinking the what if’s. But, what if the what if is the very thing that you want and that will make you happy? You. Can do it.

So go and start the thing that you would love. Whatever that may be.
